Guarana is a shrub native to the Amazon rainforest in northern Brazil. Its fruit is small, red and contains black seeds. In our country, it is well known thanks to soft drinks that contains its typical flavor.

Guarana seeds are very rich in caffeine; they actually contain 4 to 8 percent more caffeine than coffee beans. These seeds are also rich in tannic acids and in the theophylline and theobromine alkaloids.

Caffeine acts on the nervous system by combating fatigue and stimulating cognitive functions, attention, and memory, improving alertness and readiness to cope with intense physical and mental activities. For this reason, guarana powder is often used in the composition of phytotherapeutic medications and thermogenic supplements.
Consumption of guarana powder provides a number of benefits, such as: improving exercise and concentration performance, relieving headaches and helping to control cholesterol levels (delaying LDL oxidation) and blood sugar.
