The Yerba Mate tree can grow to 12 meters high and has a gray trunk, oval-shaped leaves and small green or purple-red berries. Yerba Mate leaves are used for cooking.

Yerba Mate stimulates digestion and has anti-rheumatic, diuretic, stimulating and laxative properties.

Green or Roasted Yerba Mate is used to prepare tea and the Brazilian chimarrão. Not indicated for people who suffer from insomnia and nervousness.
